Do wild or anykind of LD , only last for a short time?

      Hey Everyone

I been reading the fourms and I have read that some people LD only last about 20 seconds to a minute. Does everybody LD only last that short amount of time. Or is it possible to master LD and make it last longer?

Even if it does last a short amount of time , its more than a anybody could do in real life

Unless your trying almost all LD's are short. Once a newbs passed the excitement phase he has to keep a strong connection to the world around him. Without attention it fades into nothingness. Most people fail their LD's by letting their emotions wake them up, ect.

As far as my reasoning goes they can last a full Rem period. This period get longer the longer you sleep.

Agreed. When I WBTB and WILD they usually last around 20 minutes, but im sure I can get it longer if I wanted but I tend to get excited. Ive also heard of people saying they spent what felt like 3 or more days in a LD by slowing down dreamtime or something to that effect.

The key to long lucid dreams is to realize you're dreaming early in the dream. For me, I tend to go through almost an entire dream before realizing I'm dreaming, so by the time I become lucid, my dream is coming to an end.

They do not have to be short. I have had lucids that lasted an hour or two in real time, and some that lasted days or years in dream time. Generally, your longest REM periods happen towards the end of the night. If you add to that some REM rebound from lack of sleep the previous nights, you can get some amazingly long dreams.

It is tricky for me to keep track of time in any kind of dream, lucid or not. I get a lot of false memories that make the dream seem a lot longer. For example, I will start the dream with memories of an entire year, I will experience a 15 mnute scene realtime, then have memories of a day passing, and then I will experience another 30 minutes of real time dream.
