Smile Hey, WILD VS. DILD (What Would Win)

Hey i just joined and am glad to be a part of the community. I have one question. What's better Wake induced Lucid Dreams or Dream Induced Lucid Dreams. I have succesfully had many DILDs, but am wondering if there is any advantage to WILDs, such as more clarity or longer Lds that are worth all the time learning to Wild. Even tho DILDs sseem easier.

      Thanks
      Chase P.

I haven't really had any LDs , but from what I've read around here WILDs are more consistent and vivid if done correctly. There is a really good tutorial here, and I'm making a lot of progress. Good luck, and welcome to the forums.

Dilds are superb, but less predictable and usually shorter and with less control, than WILDs. Thats why most of the dreamers are aiming for WILD in long term. But...
WILDs are simple, becouse they are based on very simple rules. For beginners although are this rules hard to accept and follow, and even experienced lucid dreamers dont fully understand process of WILD.

So if i might recommend. I would learn DILD kind of methods at first, so you get more lucid dreams for beginnig {and you get the feel for dreamworld} and as you progress, you should develop supporting techniques for WILD.

      Enjoy and let us know.

When I experiance a WILD, I can remember 99% of what went on. If I happen to DILD, I usually have a problem remembering everything that happened when it comes to details.
Its also easier to for me to WILD, but this is all just my own experiance. I'm sure everyone is different.

Did you start with DILD or WILD? I'm new and trying to get a grip on what to do...

I'd say do both. There's no reason not to try for both in my opinion.

First ever lucid dream was a DILD. But then I really got into WILDs, I was having one almost everyday after work. Keep in mind, that at the time I had no idea what any of this was, I just thought it was cool that I could do such a thing and never talked to anyone about it.
Although I've been lucid on and off for the last few years, I still consider myself very new to it also.

Different LDers like different kinds of LDs. Personally my favorites are DILDs and DEILDs. But that is because for me they are nearly effortless and are usually vibrant, long, interesting, and easy to recall.

On the other hand, the eight or so WILDs I've had took a lot of planing and effort, and were short, confusing, and disapointing.

If I'm going to get my lazy, exhausted butt out of bed, get fully awake, then go back to bed and lay there for an hour or more, then hang out through SP I want the pay off to be an amazing LD. So far it just hasn't been.

That is my two cents based solely on my own experiences. I know a lot of LDers feel the opposite!
