      Smile Hey all!

      Hey.

I'm new (who isn't who is posting in this forum haha), and I just wanted to say that i'm glad to be a part of this website. I've heard of lucid dreaming and i was very excited to find a website that gave advice, and even techniques, to do it. I even had one a while ago (i had a dreaming sign and said "im dreaming!") but two seconds later i was back to a normal dream (it was like all the sudden i was like "no i'm not". Any quick advice would be appreciated . One quick question though (im a little anxious to start lucid dreaming). how good should you be at dream recall to start? My dreams are never really vivid, so i think it might have to be a while before i can start.

Welcome to DV! I used to wind up doing a lot of reality checks in a row during dreams, trying to convince myself that I was dreaming, then half the time I would decide that I wasn't dreaming after all. Now I usually do one reality check (the finger counting one) and when I start to doubt things I just mentally tell myself, "No, I'm dreaming. I can make an extra finger appear on my hand, there is no way I'm awake." Basically, if you hear a nagging voice suggesting you do more reality checks or forget about the possibility that you're dreaming, yell at it As far as dream recall goes, starting a dream journal helps a lot.
"When you see the shadows falling,
When you hear that cold wind calling,
Hold on tight to your dream."
