      False awakening question...

Alright, i haven't been on these forums much but i haven't really had a question...

Last night I had a lucid dream, i didn't do anything special, i just went to sleep. The dream was at a beach i think and i carried on like normal not noticing i could breath under water...next thing i remember I'm in a grocery store, I guess i thought i had woken up, I'm very tired and hungry, i grab something to eat but i fall asleep. I'm back on the beach and BAM i'm lucid.

When i get the picture of false awakening i never thought going back to sleep could initialize an LD, i always thought it was the reality check when you wake up (which i didn't do)

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this, or, is it possible to make it reoccur?

Falling asleep in a dream can cause a lucid dream, but usually not as often as reality checking during a false awakening. I guess you'd call this a false sleep? XD

I did something like that once. Later in the dream, I realized that the first part of the dream (before I went "to sleep") must have been a dream, too!

What did you do on the beach? :0

I was just chillin underwater with some friends. You know, normal stuff! but after i was lucid, i destincly remember telling the lifeguard i was dreaming, and he was kinda like "pff yeah right" i also tried to fly which consisted of jumping in the air twice but it failed there's always next time!

      Here's what I've discovered.

Waking up is the best dreamsign there is. It's especially effective as a dreamsign if your first thought is "wow... I just had a lucid dream!" The reason is that false awakenings are very common after a lucid. If you've just woken up from a lucid, the chances are fair that you are actually still asleep!

I've been making it my personal mission to remember to do a RC first thing after I wake up, no matter what I've dreamed. Just trying to condition myself.

But it was the going-back-to-sleep part of the false awakening that got me... wierd...
Yeah, a few weeks ago i read about FAs and so i've been doing reality checks when i wake up too, i guess it just slipped my mind... idk
