It is very difficult to WILD when you first lie down for sleep. Most people who have success with WILD do it in combination with some sort of WBTB. In the middle of the night, you are closer to a long REM cycle, so it is easier to enter a dream.

I'm not the biggest fan of supplements, but they do help. If you're interested, there is always tons of discussion in the Lucid Aids section of the forum. The easiest and most reliable combination I've found is galantamine/ choline. But everyone seems to have different results. Brain chemistry is a delicate thing, and varies a lot person to person.
