The best way for auto suggestion to work is to say it then completely forget what you just said to yourself, so i listen to my fav music and say something like "I will lucid dream tonight" I then think about the song lyrics and forget all about what i said, your subconcious is trying to remember what you said and tells you when your dreaming, it's kinda hard to explain
