      Big Big Question

I don't know if this was answered already somewhere in the forums, but I'll take a chance and ask it. It's said that you sort of "wake up" inside the dream when you're lucid. I'm wondering how you would experience it. When you wake up, do you look back at it as something that just happened, or do you enjoy it only as a blurry movie that you remember watching yourself in? To put it another way, is being lucid something you feel and experience as real-life (except for in a dream) or is it something you can only look back on when you wake up, like a fantasy movie?

this is why people enjoy lucid dreams so damn much. i know exactly what your talking about, and no,lucid dreaming is not viewed as a memory.
when you say 'hey,im dreaming!' everything turns exactly as you would act in real life, your decisions are real-time.

in almost all dreams you view it as a memory of a blurry movie as you said, but lucid dreaming is as real as actual life. this is the aspect which makes it so fun!

some lucid dreams have been reported to be more real than actual life.
i dont know how to describe this because it cannot be put into words, everything seems very vibrant, though not colour-speaking.
its something you have to experience.

thats right. when i become lucid in dreams, everything brightens up or become clearer... it is so not like a vague memory but a panorama thats more magical than real life.

Wow, thanks. You both just made it more enticing.

My lucid dreams usually happen as a result of a false awakening, where I think I have woken up but am really dreaming and completely lucid. In some instances the lucid dream was soooo incredibly realistic or "hyper-real" that I just stood there in absolute amazement. Not all lucids are like that though...sometimes you know you are dreaming but it is still a little blurry and you can't control anything. Other times you have total control or hyper-real dreams although some lds are so realistic that it is hard to get past our mind blocks and change things (as in the matrix)...the people on this forum are extremely helpful at offerring techniques to become lucid and increase the intensity of the lucids. Definitely worth giving it a shot...good luck.

Well, the good lucid dreams you view as if it were real life, the crappier ones are more like a "memory" or whatever...

well, when i first realised i was dreaming (intentionally) i was just so glad because it was such a terrible situation... but its really easy to forget that its not real... just focus and everything becomes so real - cant exlplain! but just dont give up - it takes quite a while to train your subconsious to naturally question reality, dream journals really help
