      Talking first lucid-ish experience!!

im not sure if it was a lucid or a dream about a lucid (or if theres even a difference from those two) but heres how it went.

I was at a house with my cousin, I've never been to the house before and there was a party going on inside. So i suddenly look at my hands and see i have all my fingers except my little finger and BOOM, im lucid, to double check if im dreaming i pinch my nose and i can breath! it was such a cool feeling. so it starts to get all cloudy and then i think nope im not loosing this dream now! and start rubbing my hands together. then the dream stabilizes and i immediately want to try and fly so i walk to the raised door step and leap forward and hits the ground face first...... as i hear my cousin laughing his head off i moved to telekinesis. I walked around looking for something to move and i found a piece of a cardboard box. i tried on it (didn't think i tried hard enough) and failed. then i wanted to use commands like break or something so i went back inside and it suddenly changed to my school and i was in my seat. we were watching a projection so i pointed at the projector and said break, it didn't. so i turned to the class mate next to me and said " hey , look at your hands". then he keeps arguing about not looking at his hands and when i finally make him and show him he has more than like seven fingers i say " see this is a dream and im the dreamer" then he says" yea i know" then the dream ended.

im not sure whats or if there is a difference between a lucid dream and a dream about being lucid but if this was a lucid tell me please.

This was absolutely a lucid dream. As long as you know that you are dreaming, it is a lucid dream. Control is nice, and a true understanding of the fact that it's a dream (rather than just the knowledge of the fact that it is) can help with dream control. But simply knowing it is a dream is enough to make it a lucid dream

Next time, if you are having trouble doing these things, make sure to just keep doing reality checks so that you're very aware that it's a dream. Keep looking at your fingers, telling yourself, "It's impossible for me to have 8 deformed fingers, so this MUST be a dream. Which means that NONE of this is real, and it can all be changed EASILY, I just have to believe it. So I am going to float up to that tree branch right now! *inhale, float" Stuff like that really seems to help. Just keep telling yourself- it's a dream, you're the dreamer, if you've got the confidence you can do whatever you want

Wow, good job stabilizing the dream. I think that alone shows some great dream control. People have non-lucid dreams about flying and telekinesis all the time. How many people know how to keep themselves from waking up prematurely? Or can convince another dream character that it is a dream? In my opinion, those are the skills that show you are becoming a better dreamer.
