      Eliminating Fear?

I've been following this site for about 2 weeks now and it has been very resourceful. On to the point, upon entering SP (while WILDing of course), how do you shake that paranoid feeling of being watched. It's very weird. I laterally felt like something was clamping my mouth shut and thrusting a fist at my throat, as I felt violent vibrations . Immediately, with no effort, I entered a dream. I was too afraid to try and obtain lucidity, due to a FA that felt so real. That's why I'm here now. How do I fight these fears and move on with my dream?

Well, it's all in your mind, so you can change it, I suppose.. Well, I've never experienced SP while WILD'ing though, so I wouldn't know from experience. I'm lucky. I just kinda -pop- into a dream with no SP and no lack of consciousness. But I'm glad to see a new member.

I often get frightening hypnagic hallucinations. My favorite way to ease the fear is to change it into something comforting. For example, if a shadowy figure is standing over my bed, I will ask it to help me up. If a creature is pinning me down, I will embrace it with a hug like a big teddy bear. It gets rid of the fear quickly by changing my expectations.

I hope this helps. Don't let scary hypnagogia or SP keep you from becoming lucid. There are tons of ways around it.

You have to realize the truth... There is no spoon. It's not the spoon that bends, it is yourself. You see, Matrix can teach you about LDing! The moral of the story, everything you sense isn't based on a static reality. There is no seperation, so when you are looking at an evil presence you're looking at yourself, you are everything in the dream.

If you're not into this "philosophical suff", then take Robot Butler's advice. It really does work! I had one of those SP, vibration, evil presence, all types of hypnagogic hallucinations experiences. All I did is treat it like an amusement park ride and it all changed for the better. So yes, hug monsters, be firendly to ghosts, because in the end all you need is love.

Oh don't worry, a philosophical approach expands my mind so I'm well into it. Thanks for the advise.
