I need some help with this..

Ok, about a month ago, I found this site and read all the luic dreaming basic. But when I came to the "stay lucid" part, I stopped. Bookmarked the site, and went to sleep, trying what I had read. And I started remembering my dreams alot more often! I also did some reality checks when I though of it at daytime, but I never acheived any results. So then I stopped. This was about a month ago.

So yesterday, I though that I should try some reality checks again. And that night, I think I had some results! I remember sitting in my bed with my feet dangling down from it, when I suddenly came to look at my t-shirt, which were not the same I went to bed with. I remember thinking "Wow! A lucid dream!". But I wasn't sure, so I figured I should try flying! So I stood up in my bed, ready to leap when I suddenly started to wonder if it actually was a dream. I desided not to jump, in case it was real.. So I went over to the bathroom trying to blow holes in the ground and stuff like that, and on the way back I threw my body forwards trying to fly again, but I just fell to the ground. Laying there, trying to determine if I had any pain, I looked up at the window.

That is the last thing I remember. But the problem is, I can't really determine if it was a real lucid dream, or just me dreaming about having a lucid dream. If you know what I mean.. My room, the bathroom and the rest of the stuff I saw on the way was just as it should. I didn't do any reality checks, but from what I can remember, everything was quite normal!

So what I am asking is, does anyone know how I can find it out? And what should I do if I ever experience something like this again?

Hey! I've done that before too The best thing to do, is to try a variety or reality checks. Make a few up. I usually try to make something move with my mind. If that works, just have LOTS of confidence. The dream world is you, if you believe you can do something, then you can. You just need to have faith that its a dream. Try to raise off the floor first. Then fly once your up the ground already

From what you told me, I do think this was a Lucid Dream. You just didn't put enough faith in yourself. Try it again, and Believe

It sounds like a lucid dream to me. You didn't have any dream control, but that doesn't always go hand-in-hand with the lucidity.

Some lucids can feel so real, you can't tell them from reality. For me, those are the hardest to control. You really have to believe, and expect your reality checks or dream control attempts to work. It sounds to me like you were trying to test the dream world with your own reality checks, but they just were not succeeding. Frustrating.

My favorite reality check is counting my fingers, then trying to push one finger through the palm of my hand. I like looking at my hands, because it helps me ground my body in the dream to keep me from waking up prematurely.

... unless you think you may have just changed your shirt in the middle of the night? Did you wake up with bruises from diving onto the floor?

the purpose of an RC is to check if you are dreaming, and they are 99.5% acurate. if you use more than one then you are 100% sure to become lucid.

why did you not do a reality check?
