Don't try to completely ignore those hallucinations. Following your hypnagogia is how you fall asleep, which you have to do for a successful WILD. Just be aware that they are hallucinations, and keep reminding yourself that it is not real. |

I'm asking cause this morning I almost went back to sleep but actually didn't. When I was fully awake in my bed I remembered I saw & heard hypnagogic hallucinations (I'm at the door of a neighbor talking to him and I hear some guys from the upper floor beatboxing and rapping), at least I think that's what they were, but I guess there's like fine line I can't adjust to i.e. the line where I realise that these are only hallucinations while my conscious is awake. For me it can't be done simultaneously...it's either one... |

You probably did fall asleep, you just dreamed that you didn't. |

If that happens again, try to do a reality check such as plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it or pushing a finger through the palm of the opposite hand. You may find yourself in an FA (False Awakening: you think you're awake but you're really still dreaming). |
