Can't Not Swallow - Attempting WILD

Hello, I've been trying to WILD every night now for a while and am having one major problem. I have to swallow every 30 seconds! I've tried drinking water before attempting and not drinking water before attempting and neither seems to help at all. I can ignore itching, but swallowing is really annoying me. Sometimes if I try not to swallow it gets to the point where I feel like I'll choke if I don't.

      Any suggestions?

Oh, and also, I've been wondering how you wake up from a Lucid Dream. Does it just happen? Or do you have to wake yourself up? This has been worrying me a little, which probably isn't helping with my attempts to WILD.

      Thanks.

Don't worry about swallowing. You probably keep focusing on your swallowing because you are trying not to. Swallow all you want, and just don't think about it too much.

Also, try to WILD in the same position you fall alseep in. Do you have problems swallowing when you fall asleep normally at night? Probably not. If you are lying on your back with your head tilted back, you may be doing weird things with your throat and neck.

I always try to WILD on my back. I tried a few times on my sides or stomach, but I find it's very hard for me to concentrate in those positions, though I usually fall asleep on my side when not trying to WILD (and I don't generally have problems with swallowing then, your right). I think my head is slightly bent forward when I'm on my back and it's usually quite comfortable.

If you're sure you're comfortable, then it is probably all mental. Try to get in the same mindset you have while falling asleep normally. You have to let go a little and almost forget about yourself. The trick is to sort of catch yourself falling asleep. You're looking to get into a trance like state where you're so zoned out, you lost track of your body, lose track of reality and switch into dream mode.

You can wake yourself up. (The best part about that is all the different ways you can wake yourself up.) You can also just let it end naturally. Both can happen and it's nothing to worry about.

To be honest, I'm not sure how I ignore it. It used to really bother me, but for some reason when I try to WILD I can easily ignore it. I think it might be because I'm paying more attention to what I'm visualizing than the itching, but I don't really know. One suggestion I saw on a tutorial here was to become interested in what the itch is doing. I don't find this to work for me, but everyone is different.

And thanks Snowy Egypt for the reassurance.

You can also wake up by destabilizing it such as flying really fast.

I also have the swallowing problem, it's just that I can clear my mind and resist the swallowing for the first little while, but as soon as I start to feel the wave all my attention starts focusing on not swallowing, which has resulted in me swallowing every single time.

so far my fail record is 100% and I've tried over 40 times. I just can't clear my mind to the point where I can resist thinking about it. hmmm i wonder...is there a way for the body to experience the wave without you actually "feeling" it?

Is this "Don't focus on swallowing" thing in the WILD tutorial? You guys have probably read the new one more than I have, and the last one I read is in the Tutorial Archive. It seems some things about WILD as a whole are counterproductive...
