Thank you for the welcome Barbizzle. I really am quite curious to see what my imagination is capable of, whether I can control the logical part of my brain to 'let go' will be a challenge and a half, I'm guessing.

Thank you for the link to the tutorials. I will be gorging on info to try to make Lucid dreaming a regular occurance. There seems so much potential there. It's not so much trying to escape from reality than learning how creative your brain can be. I'm sure the possibilities are endless and this is incredibly exciting!

The program I saw was Horizon on BBC2: Why Do We Dream? They discussed things like nightmares and how they were a kind of role play for the mind to strengthen itself against opposition and deal with fear which was really interesting, especially considering the amount of nightmares I had as a child. It makes sense to me though, I always think of the adage: Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, and the ability to face fears straight on and initiate some kind of defence or response would I imagine, be useful even on a subconscious level, I think.

They also discussed Lucid Dreaming and then proceeded to talk about a man who held a class (in Hawaii-lucky sod) teaching people how to dream this way. I cannot remember for the life of me what he taught, as I was too busy looking up lucid dreaming online but it got me thinking about my past dreams and of course the potential to be able to control your own little universe. This really fascinates me. One of my goals would be to leave the earth and visit other planets-just to see exactly what my brain can conjure up. There's a freedom there as well as a safety net and a pool of desire that can be given just by pushing the brain's potential. I'm rambling again. I tend to do this a lot.

Anyway, thank you again for the welcome, dream guide Speaking of which, is it possible to actually create a dream guide or is that something you don't have control over? I only ask because in a few of my dreams there has been a companion beside me...one I sense but haven't seen and would it be possible to use this dream guide as a reality check?
