Ive been doing alot of studying on lucid dreaming, bought a couple books and studied alot of what has been posted on this website. I havent really been on the forums though, more just trying to build up my recall and what not. I actually found for me that if I lay still in bed right after a dream and try to recall it, it doesnt work that well for me. For some reason I can recall atleast 2 dreams a night about 5 to 6 days a week. But the best way for me to recall them is by getting up and taking a shower, or if its not time for me to get up and get ready for the day yet, I'll go back to sleep with nothing on my mind, I'll just clear my head and go back to sleep. I found for myself that trying to recall something right away, makes it fad too fast because I'll start concentrating on something else, damn the ADD. But when Im in the shower I find that I am easily able to concentrate only on one thing.
Anyways I built up my dream recall and never found a pattern for my dreams, they always seemed to be different in everyone of them. Then one night I dreamt that I was at work, and something wasnt right, then all of a sudden I said to myself, "is this a dream, this isnt the way it is normally, this is a dream" and the dream suddenly started just, changing. Like colors were becoming more vibrant, the picture was getting very clear, it was just awesome. The one reason I am so interested in learning to have vivid dreams is so that I can call on people. Like I have a list of people I would love to see and meet in my dreams. And there is also this one girl that has more or less haunted my dreams for years, I have never seen her in real life, dont know her name, just what she looks like. And she has been in many of my dreams, and just as soon as I see her, she is either gone or I wake up.
Anyways, so to try out if I could call on someone while in a dream, I asked myself "where is Vanessa", and then I turned around, and there she was. It freaked me out and I got too excited that it finally happened and I woke up. That was about 2 months ago, since then I havent been able to have a vivid dream.
Last night though, again I was at work, starting to think that might be my dreamsign, and I was stocking as usual. But the department was reversed, I stock in the dairy department, which is in the far corner of the store running along a wall. And in the dream, the entire department was switched completly around, I was stocking the yogurts where the butter is supposed to be. That right there threw me off, I stood up and looked around and the rest of the store looked fine, but my dairy was in reverse. Then I looked over at my manager who was pulling a pallet that was too tall and it grabbed onto another pallet that was sitting ontop of the aisles. And I yelled out to stop moving, but it was too late and the pallet fell off the riser and then a domino effect occured with the aisles and they all started to fall.
In my dream I said "holy crap there is no way this is real" and I looked back in front of me and I was still in front of the yogurts, then I looked back at the fallen aisles, and they were right back up. See there is no way a pallet would even fit ontop of an aisle, there is just no way to do it, and the height of the pallet my manager was pulling, was one that was so high, he wouldnt have been able to get it out of the backdoors to come on to the main aisles. So that was what threw me off even more. Anyways, so now the aisles are standing back up like they never fell, and I said to myself numerous time, "I dont get it, this is a dream. I know this is a dream."
I tried jumping to see if I could fly, and nothing happened, I asked where Vanessa was, and she never appeared. So I dont get it, I realized I was dreaming, multiple times too, and yet I never went into a lucid state. Why not? I dont get it, even after the dream I woke up remembering every little detail of the dream, and the 2 dreams I had before that, but never did I go lucid at all. Anybody ever experience this, or know what I can do from here, Im lost now.
