      Question Failing to remember dreams

Upon awakening, the first thing I do is replay the dream(s) I exited through my head to make sure I remember them. I do understand that doing things such as simply moving or opening your eyes could cause major potential to forget your dreams. So I end up replaying the dream for the most part, then falling asleep. This happens about half the time. It's starting to really frustrate me because not only to I forget the dream I just replayed through my head, but I fall asleep and get excess amounts of sleep. Due to getting more sleep, I feel much more tired, waste time, and screw over my sleeping schedule to the point where I have to pull an all nighter to fix it.

What I am asking here is if there is any way to replay the dream you exited upon awakening, without doing anything that can potentially disturb it and without falling asleep?

Um, don't fall asleep? If you open your eyes, sure you will remember less of the dream, but isn't that better than not remembering any of it? I personally remember dreams prety well (eyes open or closed doesn't really matter to me) so long as I don't roll over or something. So try opening your eyes and remembering what you can, just don't pay any attention to what you see (sort of like when you day-dream) and you should be fine. Another thing you can try is to keep your eyes closed and sit up and put your head on your knees. This can be comfortable so you can focus on remembering your dreams, but it is rather difficult to fall asleep that way.

      Well good luck mate.

Just make sure you stick to a sleep schedule. Your mind will get into the routine of remembering dreams

Just relax. Alot of people get so obsessed with Lucid Dreaming, that they put too much pressure on them Selves, essentially giving them LDD. (Lucid Dream Dysfunction) hehe. Just let it happen and DONT STRESS!

replaying it once is enough- after you did so you can get up and write it down

I keep a notepad/pencil under my pillow, and write down key points of the dream as soon as I get a picture of any of it. That way I can get to sleep quicker and I can build off of all the small points I wrote down whenever I'm ready to permanently stay awake.
