This is funny that you brought this up, I have had the same problem with my annoying cat, but she has actually helped me WILD
She digs at my carpet and will come by my head and purr extremely loud....needless to say she keeps me up. So I was trying to WILD one time and like you I get easily distracted. So I yelled at her a couple times and then through her out of my room, but she continued to dig at my door. So i get up again and this time, put her out on the porch. By now, I've been up for an hour of trying to WILD and deal with my cat. I lie in bed again, repeat my mantra and BOOM I saw swirls in front of me and soon was sucked into a dream scene. I had another WILD where I woke up in my room (under similar circumstances) and when I walked into my living room, my cat was half alien, so I knew I was dreaming
For me, it helps, because it keeps me awake but also relaxed and kind of asleep (if that makes sense) I do reccomend putting her in a crate or out of your room, but sometimes its that small distraction in the back of your head that will help WILD.
