      Hello everyone. Im new here.

I am really glad I found this site. I've been able to be aware that I am dreaming and to control my dreams since 1993. As crazy as this sounds, until recently I thought that everyone could do this. I didnt even know there was a term for it. It just so happens that one day me and some friends got started talking about dreams. So I am talking about being able to fly and use telekinesis, jump really high, and heal, stuff like that. Then I ask, what can you guys do in your dreams? All I get in reply is these blank stares, and the sudden feeling that they think I am crazy. So I did some searching and this is where I ended up.

Heh, weird! I for one do not have LD's naturally - in fact, I haven't really had a true one at all . You're really lucky, mate!

Anyway, welcome to the forums. They're a great source of information as you're bound to find out.

Lucky Do you do anything specific to make this happen, or are you just a natural? I would love to pick your brain to see how you do this.

Since I started lucid dreaming, I find I still have control in all my normal dreams, too. Even when I am not actively seeking lucidity, I just assume I can do anything I want in my dreams.

First of all, thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm not sure what criteria you have to meet in order to be considered a natural. I've always had an extremely good imagination. I've also been plagued by nightmares for as far back as I can remember. When I was a kid this was a terrifying ordeal. So when I was around 12, while in a nightmare I suddenly became aware that this was just a dream. Then I attempted to wake myself, after what seemed like an eternity I managed to do it. After that I would always become lucid in my nightmares. At first I would always just wake myself up, then I realized that I didnt have to wake up. I could just change the dream to something different. My nightmares no longer make me afraid, but I still get the adrenaline or what I like to call the fight or flight response. This is always what triggers me becoming lucid. Before I knew what lucid dreaming was, my theory was that this is some kind of defense mechanism that my brain has created to protect me from my nightmares. Hopefully, now that I've joined this site I can make some sense of it all.

Lucky you, I don't think there are very many people here with your experience. I hope to see you around a lot
