Finally Registed...and realized I've Had SP and False Awakenings in the past!

      Hey!

Been reading through these boards for a couple weeks, and finally decided to join.

I've always been a skeptic, and didn't really believe in LD, hypnosis, etc. I've tried meditating, and trying certain techniques, and even hypnosis over the phone from a friend who's licensed, and it all led to failure.

Upon reading some of these experiences, they brought back memories of three different situations.

      1) When I was a child, I had this very loose front tooth, just about ready to fall out. I remember waking up in the middle of the night, and noticing that it had fallen out, I put it on my table next to my bed and went back to sleep.

The next day, once I started brushing my teeth, did I realize that my teeth was in fact, still in my mouth and still lose. I guess this was a false awakening.

      2) A few months back, I was trying different meditations to help enter lucid dreams. After about an hour of focusing on my breathing and not moving an inch of my body, I felt vibrations run all throughout my body and then a sudden feeling like I was spinning in circles extremely fast, when I knew that I was still laying still on my bed.

      3) A month or two ago, I took an afternoon nap on my couch with some Brain Entrainment music playing on my headphones. I woke up from the nap and saw a shadowy figure from my peripheral vision. It was slowly coming closer towards me, I got scared and tried to move but couldn't move at all. I then tried screaming and noticed I couldn't scream! I started to panic and tried hard to move with no success. After about half a minute, I closed my eyes hard and tried my best to move. When I finally opened them, I was standing in the middle of my room. Sleep Paralysis?

These 3 experiences gave me the confidence and motivation to continue practicing with LD, and see where it leads me. I started a Dream Journal a couple of days ago.

Hope to see you guys around!

ohoho... I kinda miss the old hag dreams they were the only interesting dreams I had (I suppose the word nightmare is more appropriate?). Now all my dreams seem mundane, plain, realistic which is no fun at all lol.

oh yeah! welcome to dreamviews! good luck, and i hope you have many awesome LDs.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I've been keeping track of my dreams and have recalled one dream each night, for the past 5 days.

My latest dream was a bit strange, but very realistic. Long story short, it ended up being a romantic and intimate dream about a girl I was seeing last spring. I rarely talk to her or see her, but for some reason had this intense and vivid dream. I woke up and still felt the touch of her lips on mine.

I haven't found a pattern or dream sign yet, granted it's only been 5 recorded dreams. One thing I noticed however, in each one of those dreams, it's always me hanging out with people I haven't seen much or talked to in the past few years.

For a skeptic, you've certainly done your reading

Yup, sounds like a false awakening. Once I read about these, I realized that it explained some weird things that happened when I was a little kid haha FAs are SO weird

These are hypnagogic hallucinations, a lot of people get the vibrating and spinning when they try to WILD.

Huh, this is weird. Did you actually end up entering a dream, since you ended up standing? Except for that part, it sounds exactly like SP.

      Welcome to DV

Talked to one of my friends, turns out he's always been able to naturally lucid dream whenever he wants to...lucky SOB

I was about to recall and record 4 seperate dreams from last night, one of them involving me looking at the sky and noticing a full moon followed by about 8 half moons putting on a show for me. I should of realized it was a dream as I've read about people seeing the sky/moon do bizzare things in dreams...doh!

Will attempt to VILD tonight as my visualization is pretty good.

Was attempting to enter sleep paralysis earlier today only to realize my body became uncomfortable and instead of SP I ended up cramping up my arm...whoops!
