Yes, motivation is huge. Journaling and setting intention "I will remember my dreams, I will awaken after dreams to record them" has gotten me from "sleeping through the night" (we all arouse between dreams but most don't remember this) remembering one dream every once in a rare while to 4 awakenings with 17 dreams + fragments last night! And all that within about 12 days since I started. The *very first night* I set the intention to remember and put the journal by my table I recorded a few dreams.
One big benefit of LD training / practice is gaining confidence in ourselves and using parts of our brain that were previously unused/on auto-pilot.
Dreams are funny, exilharating, weird, and endlessly variable, even with lucidity (and I'm absolutely shooting for lucidity) it's a great addition to life to remember your dreams!
