hi! I don't think using an alarm will specifically help your dream recall. what it will do is give you more chances for lucidity. 3am is a good time. |

TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

I think an alarm clock will hinder your recall as it jerks you awake. Vitamin B6 helps in recall, as does staying in bed with your eyes closed aftr you wake up. |

The best thing to do is wake up after every dream you have. but i dont think alarms can be timed that well, can they? I go for 4 hours anyway, helps me with recall a bit. |
|
hmm so you're saying once i wake up, just stay where i am and close my eyes and try to remember my dream? k. i'll remeber that. oh and one more question...say i wake up in the middle of the night...how do i do a FILD? |

Well, the average REM cycle runs for an hour and a half for about the first half of sleep. So, you want to wake up an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes after you go to sleep. If you get to sleep in five minutes, I would set it to an hour and 45 minutes later; an hour and a half for the REM cycle to be over, 10 minutes in case it runs a little longer, and 5 minutes to get to sleep. Also try drinking a lot of water before you go to bed at night. You automatically wake up between dream cycles, but you usually go back to sleep and forget you woke up. If you do this, your body will keep you awake for a while because you have to go to the bathroom. Get up, go to the bathroom, record your dreams, and maybe grab some water, depending on how late it is. At this point, you can go back to sleep regularly, or try a WILD/WBTB. |
|
Spend a few nights trying to wake up after every dream. Make a commitment to yourself to record the time every time you wake up throughout the night. This will give you a good general idea of your current sleep schedule. |
|
Drinking water = Win. You'll wake up after the REM cycle. I didn't think this would work at first but I did try and...I did wake up at 1AM which is around after 2h off sleep. Try it you'll see! |

hehe drinking milk works too i drank milk before i went to bed then woke up and went to the washroom. When i went back to bed, in just a few seconds i somehow felt like i was falling through my bed and boom! i'm in a LD! |
