Just joined, I'm interested in lucid dreaming but...

It sounds like sleep paralysis is a huge part of it. From what I heard about SP it sounds terrifying. I really rather not experience something like that. Sooo...is there any way to have lucid dreams without sleep paralysis?

      Yea.

You can become lucid naturally but it seem that if you want a huge chance of becoming lucid then you would need to use SP. To lucid naturally, just look at your hands often and do RC like crazy and just hope that your body in the dream will look at his hand or do a RC then notice something odd then become lucid.

You can't really hold your breath hoping this will happen like every night. Just to let you know, SP may be scary but if you know that whatever you see or hear is fake then you will be ok. (Well, even if you believe what you seeing or hearing was true, you will still be ok...Maybe just with a faster heart rate. )
Noticed things in my lucid dreams: Not scare of death (kinda forgotten Freddy special power of killing in dreams, opps?) Huge ego which cause me to summon monsters, most DC are useless and don't even speak.

Absolutely! The LD techniques MILD (Mnuemonic Induced Lucid Dream) and DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) typically do not require one to experience SP. Check out the tutourials section for more info about these techniques. Good Luck!

I found this lucid dreaming hemi-sync mp3 that guides you through the body falling asleep before the mind then tries to wake the mind up when it suspects you're dreaming. If I keep trying that method, is there a good chance of waking up with sleep paralysis?

Thanks, I'll just try the other methods. Maybe if I do have a lucid dream i'll man up and give more methods a try

Lucid Dreaming just happened for me. My dream recall became good, and after awhile I would just become aware in my dreams. I didn't even really read any tutorials, but then again, I haven't had one since.

Just remember, the only thing to be afraid of is fear itself.

Ive been Lucid dreaming a large portion of my life, and never experienced any SP. Nothing really more than some fascinating floating and spinning sensations while trying to WILD anyway.

So yeah, you can. If your that worried about it, Just focus more on DILDing than WILDing, and you shouldn't have much problems with it.

When I DILD I just realize I'm dreaming in the dream. And when it's over I wake up just like from any other dream. The only thing different is that most of the time I wake up from Lucids with my eyes still closed. But I'm pretty sure that's just from trying to stay in it.

MILD is a DILD technique, RealityEnds.

      DILD
      RC
      MILD
      EILD

      WILD
      VILD
      DEILD
      HIT
      Twin Bodies/One Body
      SP

      [WBTB]

None of those but the Twin Bodies/One Body technique specifically use and require SP. SP can always randomly happen or be a 'side effect', but for those other techniques it's really not going to unless you're already pre-disposed to getting SP. Any of the DILD techniques won't have SP, because you just go to sleep normally.

Well if you are going to try any of the WILD techniques then you will probably have to face SP at some point. Like Shift said, its like a side effect.

If you don't want to experience SP then you try DILD
