Because your REM periods are longer towards the end of the night, we recommend trying to WILD after 6 or 7 hours after initially falling asleep.

The amount of time you should remain awake during a wake-back-to-bed is dependent on how easily you fall asleep. If it takes you a long time to fall back asleep, have a short WBTB (5-10 minutes). If you fall asleep too easily, have a longer WBTB (15-20 minutes). Be sure to record your dreams during WBTB.

You will fail, the first few times. Keep adjusting your wake-back-to-bed times until you succeed.
