Keep waking up after becoming Lucid

Right, i've had about 20-30 Lucid dreams now, technically. But every one has faded and i have woken up about 3 seconds after becoming Lucid. I'm going to try the spinning technique, but can never remember to do it in time. I've tried rubbing my hands together a couple of times but that didnt work. Also i now know about DEILD when a dream fades which is a good idea. But it's annoying that I could of had 30 amazing dreams by now, i've been trying to LD for 4 months, and so far havnt had a single propper one. Is the spinning technique my best bet? I also read that to stabilize one should pay attention to their senses and things around them, but it all seems to fade too quickly for me to get my bearings and do that.

Spinning and rubbings your hands together seems to be a choice favorite for people wanting to maintain their lucidity within the dream. Personally, what works for me is looking at my hands and paying attention to the detail, also looking intensely at other objects in the room tends to help solidify the dream state and maintain my lucidity.

What I like to do, is as soon as I become lucid, take slow deep breathes (synchronized with my actual body) this helps me remain calm. Too much excitement can cause you to wake. I then like to do a reality check. This helps stabilize and clear up my surroundings. I find that spinning works better once you have been in the dream a while and then it starts to fade. Like Jeff said, paying attention to detail, and actually feeling your surroundings with your hands can also stabilize the dream. Also, if you are thinking/worrying about waking up, then this can cause you to do just that. I used to have that problem early on, but I like to get involved with dream activity as quick as possible so I don't think/worry about waking up. Good Luck!
