Usually about an hour of motor function after waking up early, to get the brain stimulated, and before taking another couple hours sleep is very effective at getting Lucid or at least very vivid dreams.

The timing of waking up can increase effectiveness as well, if you wake up before or during the last REM period, causing REM rebound during your nap and a full hour or so of REM.
