      Would This Work?

So every morning I wake up at 5:50 for a church thing that starts at six. I get home at around 7. At 7:10-30 I usually go back to sleep until 8:00 and then I get ready for school. Could I WILD during my morning nap? From what I've read everything seems like it would work (being awake for about an hour. waking up during sleep. ect.)? Also is WILDing a good way to have your first LD?

Sounds like pretty ideal conditions to me. Try thinking of LDing during the time your awake, perhaps drink a little coffee as well. Good luck!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Honestly, that sounds like a perfect time for a WILD. And anything that gets you lucid is a good way to begin LDing! WILDs can be a little hard, but in this case I would be surprised if you didn't have them by pure accident at some point. Good luck!

And remember to tell us how it works out.

By the way, if you need any tips on how to WILD, just ask. Although it sounds like you may have already found some of the tutorials on it.

      Welcome to dreamviews!

Yes, like Naiya said, that is probably one of the best times you could wild. Some people find wilding hard and some find it easy, if you find it easy it would be great for starting to lucid dream. Good luck.

      ^Probably

This would simply be an extended WBTB, so yes it sounds like it could be very effective.

Usually about an hour of motor function after waking up early, to get the brain stimulated, and before taking another couple hours sleep is very effective at getting Lucid or at least very vivid dreams.

The timing of waking up can increase effectiveness as well, if you wake up before or during the last REM period, causing REM rebound during your nap and a full hour or so of REM.

You would want more than 30 minutes to WILD. Sometimes, it takes longer than that just to fall back to sleep. Try something like MILD, where you just try to remember to become lucid.

Do you normally have a dream during this short nap? If not, you're probably screwed no matter what you try.

Yes I dream during this time. I have had experinces where I would be laying on my couch at this time under some blankets but then within a few minutes it seems like I can see through my eyelids and the blankets because I can see my living room perfectly. Is this a lucid dream or a hypnogogic? I never actually tried moving because I was amazed at it. When it first happened I thought I was developing X Ray vision. This happens usually once or twice a week.

Wow! See if you can move and become lucid. Do some RC's and see if you are dreaming or not. I'd venture to say that you'd dropped into dream mode, and you were dreaming of your living room. Just see what you can do!
      ...And then to dream...

Yeah, it sounds like you are naturally slipping into a WILD during this nap, anyways. That is pretty common. Laberge describes something similar in his book. It is how they came up with the WBTB idea.

Yay I'm excited that this can work! This morning while I was trying to do it I fell asleep and then I realized I was dreaming and immediately woke up! What happened?

You may have just been too excited...leading to waking... I have it when that happens.
