      Hey whats up, Im amanda. I am from birmingham alabama. I have been having very vivid dreams my intire life and have been able to control them for the most part.. Until recently i have enjoyed sleeping just to dream! Like i said.. until recently.. now i have been having nightmares every single night to the point i dont even wanna close my eyes...

      its bad..

      So im pretty much here to talk about that!

      Hi Amanda,

      Welcome! I just had a discussion about nightmares. There is a relation between nightmares and drinking dairy before going to bed.
      So maybe this is also the case for your nightmares.

      I hope you figure out a way to ditch the nightmares. Sometimes, they become a self-fulfilling loop. Your dreams have a lot to do with your expectations. If you are worried you might have nightmares, you probably will. My advice would be to focus on the dreams you do want to have. Don't worry about the dreams you do not want to have. For example, don't lie in bed thinking, "Don't dream about zombies, no zombies, no zombies..." Instead, think about the dreams you do want to have. Think, "I will dream about big fluffy, friendly polar bears. Snuggly polar bears... Eskimo kisses from polar bears..."

      Hi and Welcome!

      Nightmares are just a matter of mindset. Trough lucid dreaming you can acquire the mindset that nothing can hurt you in your dreams and everything belongs to you, you are god. This mindset will stay with you even in regular dreams and you will be able to trully enjoy even the most exciting dreams.

      Hi there,

      If you are able to control your dreams, whenever a nightmare comes along just try and realise you are dreaming; become lucid, tell the 'threat' to go away and try and believe it will.

      I haven't had a single nightmare that I can recall since I was around 15 or so, I'm now 22 so it's been quite some time! Anyway, as above, you should try controlling your nightmare, change the scary for let's say, fields of flowers and the sun beaming down upon you?

      I took a similar approach when I had a nightmare as a kid, just change scenery and remember it's you who is in control, not your dream.
