My First Lucid since I started Again.

I had my first lucid dream since I started praticing again. Basically I was in a car being chased by someone, then I realized Im being chased, Im in a dream(seems to happen alot to me in dreams.) So I became lucid and starting to fight with my 5th hour teacher, ended up punching him and I guess I won the fight. Then I got stuck in a garage and woke up. Umm Not quite sure how I got lucid, I just kind of realized I was dreaming, but I did have lucid dreaming on my mind alot before I fell asleep and I was repeating my mantra alot before I feel asleep, so I am guessing it might have been a MILD(please correct if im wrong)

Hi retro, congrats on that LD, and I think MILD is correct. Sometimes we also "just" realise in a dream that it is a dream without any technique, so it can happen that way too. But repeating a mantra is a good way to increase the chance.

It could have also been a DILD but to me MILD and DILD are rather the same when it comes down to it, one you just make it a point to remember and check if it is a dream, the other just happens.

I found when I first got into lucid dreaming that the act of just reading a lot of them and thinking about lucid dreaming a lot made me more likely to have one. I guess it kinda is like the Tibetan Monk thing where they live their whole lives thinking its nothing but a dream, so when they do dream, they become lucid right away. So having lucid dreaming on your mind a lot, whether it be throughout the day, or as your going to sleep, imo is a great way to increase the chances of having one

Oh and a tip on the being stuck in a garage, I found that if I want to go somewhere other then where I am in the dream, that if I close my eyes, think about nothing else then where I wish to be, and spin around, that when I open my eyes I tend to be in the location I wanted to end up in. I have also had this work for summoning people in my dreams too, however you decide to do it just remember dream control is all about believing, if you can believe it 100% in your mind, since it is your mind making up the dream, it will happen within your dream.

Congratulations. I know it always feels good to be lucid again after a break. Hopefully this is a good sign that you're on the right track.
