Possibly The Coolest Forum I've Joined

All I have are my dreams, besides the conversations I have with far-away people online. I have a terrible mentality that I cannot change. I have so many obsessions and fears and very extreme emotions. In other words, for me, reality is the real nightmare. My dreams feel so natural, like the way things are supposed to be, and then I wake up into the same nightmare everyday.

That's why I wanna learn how to control my dreams. I rarely have lucid dreams, and I wanna change that.

Good luck on your lucid dreaming.

I understand how you feel about the waking nightmare, terrors of your own mind. Lucid dreaming has helped me to heal my mind.

Yea I too think this is a great forum. It has a good number of active members, and we all have at least one common interest, lucid dreaming obviously.
You've already discovered that lucid dreaming can help you. But I would not reccomend using them as an escape from reality.

      To DV!

I'll tell you now, you have an advantage over a lot of newer people here. Check out the "Attaining Lucidity" section to start off, and find a technique that's right for you.

If you ever have a problem, ask any of the people with green names, they're the Dream Guides. They will help you as best they can. Blue names are Mods, but you really don't have to worry about their wrath if you behave. (They are fun to be around if you get to know them... in a good way) Red names are the Administrators. If you are having problems with anything regarding the forum, and you can't find a solution in the Meta Forum, talk to them. They keep this place up and running.

Above all, have fun! There are plenty of things to do here, for just about anyone.

      Yes they are,

And probably some good advice to follow^^ .

Just to repeat what everyone else said, "Welcome!" We love new people here on the forums, and you can really ask anyone for help. I'd also suggest that you start a dream journal. It can be a file on your computer, a notebook, or anything that you want. The important thing is that you keep one and write all of the details of your dreams in this almighty little notebook. This will help you considerably in your journey to lucid dreams, as you'll then be able to recognize dream signs (common features of your dreams) that will help you be able to attain lucidity. You may also want to start forming the habit of doing regular reality checks. These will help you become lucid as well. Good luck, and again, Welcome!
      ...And then to dream...

Welcome to the forums. I feel you, life is a walking nightmare, and luciding dreaming can really help that. The forums are excellent, there are aot of great guides to help you get started, and everyone here is really nice and extremely helpful. Lucid dreaming honestly can help not as a get away from life but more as a place to just relax and do things that aren't possible in real life. Good luck btw.

What he said. No matter what I do, I always turn into a troll (not on purpose) in that room...I don't know why, it's just something about it that turns me into an obnoxious ba***rd. I apologize to anyone and everyone I've alienated in that room.

Also, stay away from the senseless banter forum, and the religion and spirituality forum...great places to get your beliefs trashed.

Regarding Chat, spending time in the forum will make transition into chat easier. I spent about a month or so only on the forums, then went to chat. I didn't have any problems other than a few jokes for DV quotes. (like a sarcastic attack on noobs, resulting in me being "booted" [I logged out] from the chat) It's fun as long as you know what to expect. Get to know people from the forum first.

Thanks for the advice and welcoming peoples. I rarely see a forum where there are this many replies to a new person.
