to dreamviews!
For me, anyway, it took about 3 weeks (had my first lucid just last night! Woo!) I should warn you, though, that this was with a lot of devotion and autosuggestion. I tried to MILD every night, reality checked all the time, kept a detailed dream journal, etc. It's a process that definitely requires some sort of determination and commitment. It really can't be passively done (or at least, not as effectively).
As for binaurals, I don't think they could hurt. Studies show that, with binaurals, you can entrain your brain waves and pull them toward a specific frequency. You want to aim for the theta range, where most lucid dreaming takes place. However, you don't want to just launch right into theta wave frequencies...you want to start off in the beta waves, which is where most people are naturally chillin' throughout the day, and slowly drop the frequency, in theory getting your brain waves to follow. I've set binaurals to music (which I recommend), such as Jimmy Buffett and Journey. Whatever you do, though, make sure that when you listen to them, you're not actively engaged in any activity, as this will prevent brain wave entrainment.
Good luck, and keep with it!
