So these dreams i had was a "thing"?

      Hi, i'm new in here.
Funny thing, some years ago when i would sometimes have a nap after school/work i would often get to choose my dreams. I thought it was cool and didnt think about what it "really" was or if someone else's could do this.
Now, years later, i havent taken a nap at daytime anymore (didnt know this could have something to do with my LDs).

Some days ago i suddenly came over Lucid dreams on Wiki, and i thought "Damn, this is what i had before!". Didn't knew that it had a name
So i did some reserch, stumbled upon this site which looked very nice, forum about it and all.
So now i'm really gonna start looking more into it, hoping to experience this a lot more

One thing to add, this may seems a bit weird and maybe very offtopic, but years ago, often when i had a lot of alcohol to drink they day before, i could close my eyes, and faces, REALLY lifelike faces would morph into each other before my closed eyes. This is prob something else since its not while dreaming, but anyway, have someone else experienced that?
Hope this last thing dont make me look like a crazy person or something lol.

      Welcome to DV.

That's great you were able to get lucid dreams without learning first. But you can learn a lot more here. You can now understand that you can do ANYTHING in those dreams.

If you want to learn the different techniques used to gain lucidity, read these. They are good to learn, because they are more reliable that the way you would have done it. (depending on how often you do have them, I don't know how often you actually lucid dream)

But even if you do have the ability to lucid dream all the time without knowing these techniques, I still advise you to read them for you to understand what people are talking about on the forum.

I recommend reading to DILD and WILD first, they are the 2 most talked about techniques. Then go on to read the DEILD, MILD and all the other ones.

Welcome to Dream Views! I can't tell you what caused you to see faces so vividly, but perhaps you can use that ability to WILD.

This always happened to me as a child. It freaked me the hell out. I made it stop. Now, I want it back! (I wasn't drinking at the time!)

It's called closed eye hallucinations. I have never heard of alcohol having an effect on this. Interesting.

You can use this to induce WILD's.

I wonder why i only had these things years ago.
Have been trying now for a couple of nights. Yesterday when i went to bed i kept on trying some of the tricks here and later that night i suddenly saw my iPhone in front of me, thinking "oh no, its not muted, i would wake up now". Was just a normal 5 second dream and i woke up. Later i saw some bright light in my rightdown corner. Its kinda scared me a bit since it was lifelike and iīve never experienced that so i kinda awake. Also heard some noises or whispers a bit far away. Canīt remember when i heard those, if it was during, before or after the light.
Had my alarm on 5 hours after i went to sleep. Woke up, and instead of the 1h awake and then back to sleep, i tried going back to sleep instantly. Cant remember if i dreamt at all then.
