      Hello everyone! :)

      Hi all

Ive recently began reading alot about lucid dreaming since reading an article in newscientist about sleep and dreaming. After a few google searches i realised that i have experienced something like this before!

1.) When i was very young, about 5 or 6 i would say, i remember having a dream, it was very vivid and so real! I woke from my bed, walked to the toilet and began to wee. For a reason i couldnt understand i was weeing all over myself and woke up in a wet bed!! (dont laugh i know people have experinced this before! )

I beleive this is called false waking and is some sort of aspect of lucid dreaming.

2.) Very recently (before reading about lucid dreams) i dreamed i was on top of a multistorey carpark. I was trying to diffuse a nerve gas bomb of some sort and failing miserably. Maybe because i have no experince in such things Anyway when i realised i had failed and the timer was on like 5-10 seconds left i decided to give up. Then i was on the street next to the carpark with the two people i was ontop with and we were walking away, acepted the fact the gas was going to kill us and just walking slowly. Then i began stumbling, no pain no fear just dying i rember dropping to the pavement the gas had taken its effect on me and all was going black.

When it did go black i opened my eyes (still dreaming) and relised i had died but was a ghost of somesort. Everything was so twilighty and vivid! I began to float about 2 meters from the ground at walking speed by tilting my hands parralel to the floor in the direction i wanted to go and realised i had alot of control. I do not think it was totally lucid as i dont remember thinking i was in a dream just that i was a ghost and could float. I floated along to a tall how with very glowing lights from the windows which made it look very warm and inviting from outside. I could see a woman faintly though an open window and floated up quite far to see her, she was ironing or something aand i just observed! Que waking world.

Now im not these were "real" lucid dreams but they were cool!

I am going to experiment with the techniques i have read about to try to induce lucidity in my dreams. Watch this space

Sorry for the rushed approach i was in a hurry when i wrote this.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

You have some pretty cool dreams. Do you keep a dream journal? If, not, you're more than welcome to start one here.

It sounds like the first dream you had was a false awakening. It is not a lucid dream, but if you do a reality check (a test to see if you are dreaming) every time you wake up in real life, you will hopefully do one when you have a flase awakening and then become lucid.

So a lucid dream is just knowing you're dreaming while you're in the dream.

In the other dream, it sounds like you were using a lot of dream control. Dream control is something that lucid dreamers use, but you don't always have to be lucid to use it. In your case, the dream plot made a sort of loophole which allowed you to use some dream control (under the guise of being a ghost), but you weren't lucid yet.

Still, these things are really good signs for you, since false awakenings and dream control are great dream signs which can help you get lucid in the future!

Yeah, what Naiya said, keep a dream journal. That is important. You also need to remember to have complete confidence and you'll get it soon! Hope to see you around!
