Question Are audio recordings of your dreams just as effective as written?

Hi there. I'm new to this forum & website. I've been involved in Lucid dreaming since I was 17. However I have never been fully lucid :/ I've gotten close though. I blame this on my practice being interrupted with girlfriend/work/errands...I seem to slip in and out practicing before being successful.

However, I'm trying again. One thing that holds down my progress is writing down my dreams in my journal. I have very detailed and long dreams. And usually I can recall 2-3 every night...sometimes 4-5 if I wake up during the night and record. Dream recall never seemed to be the problem for me. But I get tired of writing every morning.

So my question. Lately I've been using my iPhone to to record my dreams via audio recordings. I really enjoy this. It's fast easy and saves the time/date etc...

So do you believe it's just as effective as writing them down or typing them out?

      Thanks

I think it is. Keeping a dream journal is beneficial because you force yourself to remember everything about a dream. You do this when you write or when you keep audio recordings.

I think the major point of a Dream Journal is just so that you can recall your dreams and try to remember them, also to look back at them for dreamsigns. So, my opinion is that yes, I think audio recordings would be fine also.

i think it's fine to record audio for non-lucids, but it's probably better to write/type lucid dreams. it's worth the effort for those - you'll get more detail and it's easier to see what you've already recorded to organize things in your mind.
