      A question about dream recall

      Hi everyone,

For how long do we have to keep recalling dreams? How we can have lucid dreams and still wake up to record the dreams?

If you want to keep up with it you probably need to always record, or at least recall your dreams and reinvision them to make sure you remember your lucids.

I have found that I usually wake up at the end of a lucid and many non-lucids. I don't usually record then, just make notes in my mind so I can remember when I get up for the day. I also do this in my lucids once in awhile to keep the memory better.

To start LDing consistently, recall them until it becomes consistent. But honestly, you should journal all your dreams because its good to get a feel for all your dream signs... and its just fun to look at all the crazy things one has dreamed about!

I suggest making advanced efforts to recall your dreams for the first few months (writing your dreams in as much detail as possible), or at least until you are consistently recalling multiple dreams each night. Then you can move on to notes/reminders. I write down as much information as possible for a while and then once my recall peaks I take a more laid back approach (writing notes rather than whole dreams, making mental notes like hostetjm suggested, etc.) Once I begin to slump, or once my recall begins to drop, I start writing in detail again. If possible, it is always best to journal your dreams in as much detail as possible. Good luck to you.

As it seems, we have to keep recording dreams even after we're successful at attaining lucidity, right?

That feels a bit as a distraction for me, because how we can maintain a balance between lucidity and being awake to record the dreams?

Hmmm, it certainly requires some getting-used to, right?

I thank you all guyz for giving advice, and if you have anything to add, feel free to do so.

      Thanks a lot.

If you have good recall anyway, you don't really need to write them down. If you start loosing it again, do some touch-up work, like anything else.

      And welcome to the forum

Yes yes ive gotten to the point where i scribble a few notes on a pen pad in the dark and its enough to let me remember it all the next morning (its also fun trying to read what you wrote)
Iwas getting to the point where getting up and all that was making it difficult to fall back asleep ,so it helps for that too

I hear ya! Many times I have woken up and said to myself, "WTF does that say?" or "WTF does that even mean?" Lol. That usually occurs when I write my notes without turning a light on.
