Exclamation Can't remember to stay still!

I have been trying to get into Sleep Paralysis after waking, but I always forget to stay still and not open my eyes! I been trying for weeks now, and I still always open my eyes and get up. It is so annoying, I just keep forgetting. Please, can someone help? I'm tired of this, and now I really want to get to SP no matter how scary it is, so I could achieve a lucid dream because I have not had them in a while. And what's the technique called when you use SP to get into a dream?

From what I've heard, a lot of people who try the WILD method get up and stretch a bit before trying to enter SP. It's actually a really good idea to get some blood flowing and a bit of mental activity going on. You want to be as comfortable as possible. And when you are attempting to enter SP, if you have this unbearable itch, go ahead and scratch it.

Personally, though, I prefer the MILD method. WILD is technically the most difficult induction method, especially for beginners. And if a technique isn't working, go ahead and move on to another one. Make sure you give it a fair chance of course, but it sounds like WILD and DEILD aren't doing it for you at the moment.

Why are you trying to get into SP? Just to experience it? Yes, some people can use SP to go back into a dream, but I don't know many people who can just "trigger" sleep paralysis. It's something that happens naturaly.

It sounds like you're interested in DEILD, Dream (Re-)Entry Induced LD. WILD, as Mario said, can be difficult for some people (such as myself) and/or be less effective than other methods, though there are those who find WILD very easy. It just depends. Check out the DEILD tutorial and see if that helps. You basically wake up from a dream and attempt to fall asleep back into that same dream.

As for having a hard time staying still, how long have you been trying. Remind yourself before you go to sleep that when you wake up, you won't move. Just lie there and relax. Think about the last thing that you were dreaming about. Relax. It may take time to get into this habit, but you'll get it if you keep at it.
