Hey aodimp, don't fret WILD is probably the hardest technique to learn/master, first off. Secondly, a simple mantra might work for you with dream recall... I tell myself "I will remember my dreams" when I'm having troubles remembering stuff, and it seems to work. I repeat it over and over until I fall asleep.

After trying a few techniques, I have chosen DILD. I can't WILD to save my life, and it's too frustrating for me to learn. Anyways, one doesn't need to WILD to have a LD every night. Naiya has LDs a few times a night, and she uses DILD more than WILD (to my knowledge... her DILD count vastly out numbers her WILD count, anyways ). I'm working up to about 1 week, myself.

The thing to remember, with any technique you choose, is to relax. Most people here find that the more you try to force a LD, the less likely they are to have one (myself included in that statement!).

All it really takes is diligent practice with one chosen technique (it's really important to stick to one - at least, it is for me). Keep up with it every night. Be consistent. You will eventually have a LD.

Edit: Just wanted to post, that Naiya's guide is what I've been using. I went from having LDs a few times a year to having one at least once a week by using her guide.

Specifically, I do the visualization DILD at night, and I consistently RC throughout my day. I try to work on overall day-long awareness.

How did it go? It sounds like you are already making progress remembering your dreams. Noticing those frequent midnight awakenings is a huge step in mastering your dreams.

Sometimes trying to do too much at once can just confuse things. Only take on as much as you feel comfortable with. If you would like to get started with WILD, but don't want to interfere with all the other stuff your trying to keep track of at night, you can practice during daytime naps. Find a good time during the day to practice relaxation and meditation techniques, or pay attention to what it feels like to slip into sleep. Don't get frustrated if you don't score a ton of lucid dreams from this. It is just practice, with the added bonus of some possible successful WILDs.

Yeah, daytime naps work really nice, i tried yesterday and I remembered the dream really well. Right now I'm up for a WBTB, trying to focus on LD so thats all I can think of when I fall asleep again. Thanks for the help

and yet I fail, again. This night i really dedicated to LD, i even slept for 12 hours, remembered 4-5 dreams and i woke up several times during the night. And still my dreams are just like they were before I heard about LD. I can't tell myself with confidence "I will dream lucid" anymore before i fall asleep. And I don't see how my RC's will get into my dreams...

Enough whine there. Well, i don't understand what DILD is.. Isn't it just a WBTB? And, can't you apply a WILD to a WBTB?

      I'm confused and a little sad ;(

      still failing.
"In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away."
      DILDs: I have lost count.
      WILDs: 1
