      Hey there

      Hey there.

First learnt about lucid dreaming a while ago, when I was about 14 and the same night had a lucid dream, but predictably got over-excited and control didn't last too long Then I proceeded to forget all about it.

I'm now 16 and I've decided to start again. Tried a couple of nights already, so far no luck, but oh well, practice makes perfect. What would you guys recommend for induction techniques?

      Anyway, nice to be here.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I didn't see you come in!

Welcome on board! I always tell people to begin with the Basics. Start keeping a journal, identify dream signs, reality check. While doing this, pick a method or you find interesting or that fit into your sleep schedule.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I'm keeping a dream journal, but the problem is I keep forgetting to reality check every day. Would this be a hindrance?

My first suggestion is always to try naps. I almost always have a lucid dream during a nap. Or the second-best way is to get up in the middle of the night. Watch TV or something for an hour. Then go back to bed. I have a lot of lucid dreams that way. It actually helps too, for me anyway, if when you go back to bed you imagine dreaming about what you were just watching on TV. It's as if you can walk right into the storyline that way.

I would take naps, but the problem is I have difficulty sleeping during the day because I simply don't get tired. During the Christmas holidays, I went to bed at about 3AM and got up at 3PM and that screwed up my sleep pattern so I'm still only just getting back into it.

That probably explain's why I've had no luck LDing yet, since I tried again.

I'm new too and I'm trying to get the hang of this webisite!!
I have weird dreams, but my lucid dreams consist of me arguing with my friends, it's pretty much
Me "OMG, I've just realised. I'm in a dream!" and my friend is like
      "no your not"
      "Yes i am"
"no your not". Then it turns into a big argument till I go, "i'll prove it to you" so i wake myself up and then i'm like see, then awwww dammit! XD

A tip for this is to have your mobile timer set to an hour at a time, and everytime it rings preform a RC and you will get into the habit of doing RC`s very fast!^^

Hehe, that would really annoy me. Though it would encourage me to carry on.

I wish I'd known about this when I was younger now. I realised loads of times that I was in a dream but didn't know I could do anything about it.

      like last night..

I was trying ot have lucid sex and had two issues:

      First, I couldn't get aroused.
Once I did, I was way too small. Smaller than real life, by a lot.
Then, I woke myself up cause I was pressing against my pants. lol.

Don't worry about it. It takes the average person about 4 to 6 weeks to have their first lucid dream. I would recommend looking into ETWOLD (Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming, available online, in book stores, and in pdf format). It is a very good book and rather easy to read. It is basically an instruction manual, and sums up all you need to know about lucid dreaming better, faster, and more accurately than I ever could. Good luck!
