Thumbs up newbie to site but not LDing

Hi all i have had LD's before around about 7 or 8 over the last 5 years but thought it was totally random and i was unique, i didn't even know it had a name until i decided to look up my experience on the net. it is amazing how much i can relate to this site as i have experiences sp on numerous occasions also, i usually force myself out of this state (as it feels quite uncomfortable mentaly) by telling myself to close my eyes and wake up this generally works, but reading others posts on here i have been wasting opportunities to enter another lucid dream, i am quite excited to learn that i can actually train myself to LD as in my few previous experiences i have flown, beaten off thugs that were attacking me and surfed (something i have tried to do in reality but failed!)

I have a very good recall of my dreams sometimes remembering 2 or 3 a night, i understand about RC's and have been trying for a week now to DILD and WILD without success even though i remember my dreams its the actual asking myself to do the RC while dreaming is the difficult bit to master as before it just seemed to click and i'd realize i was dreaming any tips on mastering the ability to question myself during my dream would be much appreciated as i'd love to experience LC's on a regular basis,
      Thanks for reading!

The ability to question yourself and do reality checks often in dreams isn't going to be easy to learn but one technique I use would be to do reality checks throughout the day and hopefully this will filter down into your dreams and when you see something odd and if everything goes allright, you'll enter lucid dream. Hope this help.

Welcome to Dreamviews! With your past experiences you should have a nice "kick start" into the world of Lucid Dreaming. One of the most effective RC methods that I have used is writing "RC" on the back of your hand (you could use just one letter if you want, I actually used "D" for dream). Every time you see it during the day, perform a RC. I recommend the nose pinch RC. Also, during your dream if you happened to notice your hand and it says something other than "RC" (or whatever you use), then you can realize your dreaming. Good luck in your future efforts and enjoy your stay here at Dreamviews!
