      Lightbulb Question about DIELD

I was trying to wild , but I think that body relaxation is hard, so I decided to try another form of wild, which is DIELD,which requires me to wake up during rem sleep.

My question is : How do I know when my rem occurs ? or is it fixed for this technique to wake up after 5-6 hours.

DEILD doesn't require you to wake up during REM. The goal is to catch the tail end of a dream, wake up slightly, don't move much, and enter a brand new dream from the beginning, hopefully Lucid. Basically, Dream Chaining. This technique, to me, is more tailored to be attempted during the early morning hours.

Does that help? Please let me know if I misunderstood something.

Throughout the night, you wake up after every dream. You just fall back asleep right away and forget that you ever woke up. For DEILD, you want to take advantage of these natural awakenings by realizing that you were just dreaming and re-entering it. To learn how to wake up on your own you can try using affirmations/mantras at the beginning of the night.

It is used mainly for chaining lucid dreams. Basically, you become lucid within a dream and once the dream comes to a close, you can dream chain (perform a DEILD and enter back into a lucid dream). Another time to perform this technique, is if you have woken up (or are waking up) and you haven't opened your eyes or anything yet. Alot of times you will become aware/conscious as you are waking from a normal dream. If this happens you should attempt a DEILD and enter directly into a lucid.
