      Confidence w/ lucid dreaming..

I'm very new with lucid dreaming, and I run into a problem when trying to get what I want in dreams, if I become lucid. Let's say I'm on a bridge, and it starts to collapse. If I tell it to stop, and it begins to do so, I end up doubting myself(i.e: "What if the bridge doesn't stop? What do I do? D:") and then the bridge continues to fall because I don't truly believe what I said is final.

I'm afraid I doubt myself just as frequently in the waking world. I'd like to know how to boost the confidence in myself, at least in the dream world.

Koratah, when you are lucid dreaming try reassure yourself that you are in a dream, and remember that anything is possible and that you have the ability to have complete control. If you still do doubt yourself try shouting what you want to happen, or take something such as a dream control pill. Both of these things should help to improve your confidence in the dream world.

Also if you would like to build up self confidence in the real world try to run though some real life scenarios in the lucid dream. If you do something in a dream it should be easier in real life than it would have been otherwise.

Good luck with your dream and real world confidence!

This happens to me as well. If you are having trouble reassuring yourself, maybe you could ask DCs to stop the bridge for you, or spawn a machine that will stop the bridge, rather than depending purely on willpower.

I hate when this happens. Sometimes, extremely vivid lucid dreams can be limiting because of this. They can feel too real, and cause you to lose your confidence.
