      WILD Question

I am just getting into lucid dreaming. When I start to go into a WILD I get paralyzed first, then start to hallucinate but suddenly I remember I am paralyzed and it freaks me out. I feel, what feels like the pure instinct of vulnerability. also I feel like if some one where to wake me up it would ruin my experience each time i have talked myself out of it, Then start to do math in my head until I am no longer paralyzed. Is this common? Any advise or experiences to share?

The getting freaked out is normal. Just relax, and go with it. Enjoy the ride, don't fear it.
      I'm back!

Like yynym said, getting freaked out during SP is very common. I hit SP regularly and still get freaked out sometimes. Every now and then I get freaked out to the point of me purposely breaking SP. The best way to deal with it is to keep reminding yourself/reapeating in your head over and over that this all just a hallucination and you can't be harmed. Then try and sit back and experience the SP as if it is a horror movie (if it gets scary). Horror movies can be scary at times, but you know that it isn't going to hurt you. Just get in that observatory mind frame and reassure yourself when needed and I'm sure you'll get it soon enough. After you get through a few transitions, it'll get easier for you. Just try and stay as calm as possible. You can also keep reminding yourself, "As soon as its over I will become lucid." or "just a little bit longer and I'll be in a lucid." This can sometimes help you ride out the tide of frightening SP. In my experience, only about 20% (maybe even less) of my transitions are frightening. Most of the time its relatively smooth sailing.
