      Exclamation Need help with WILD's!

I have been trying to WILD for about a month now, and I can't seem to get into the Sleep Paralysis stage. (Real new!) I would be lying there, hands feeling weird, not numb, and that is as far as I can get. I incorperate WBTB and get relaxed, I don't swallow, I don't think I move my eyes, but it still doesn't work! Please help!

You know, you don't have to do a traditional WILD, they take a whole lot of effort. Something I like to do, which may be of assistance to you is doing a WBTB- get up for a short while, if mantras help you, do some, practice reality-checking and eat some chocolate (or whatever your individual LD-inducing food happens to be). Then just go back to sleep normally. In my experience, DILDs become much easier then. Something about the logic centre of the brain being turned on when you were awake for that short time makes your thoughts more logical in the next dream- leading to noticed dreamsigns etc. I hope that made some sort of sense, I'm very sleepy right now...

I think I may have something that may help you. I saw this on a forum once before and found that it works really well for me. I have found that I can induce the body into SP very quickly by using the WAKE-BACK-TO-BED method, using an alternative method just before laying back down into bed. I lay on the kitchen floor with the lights off, (or any very uncomfortable place) for 10 minutes. I lay there with my eyes closed, lights off, and try to relax the most I can. But this is really uncomfortable. After 10 minutes. I immediately, get up, go lay down in my very comfortable bed. My body is so uncomfortable from laying on the floor that the bed feels extra nice, my body relaxes very very quickly, and hits SP sometimes within just a couple minutes... Literally.. I have a hard time getting into SP as well with most methods... This way seems to work very well.. The reason for keeping the lights off is to let the mind relax, and the eyes relax, while leaving the body very uncomfortable. This way, most of the relaxing is finished when I get into bed, except for the body. The body then Rushes to catch up assuming the mind has already fallen asleep.. as long as I lay perfectly still I can usually Induce SP in just a couple mins... The other method I use is the CAN-WILD method, Using a timer to induce spontaneous false awakenings and lucid dreams.. this seems to work very well.. Also, sleep breathing helps to induce SP very fast as well, if you dont know what that is, research it, but its a way to fake your breathing pattern of sleeping, to bring on SP faster, let me know how this works for you.. and even if it seems silly, give it a shot and let me know what you think..

Like atkins mentioned, you need a trick to get yourself more relaxed. You can't just lie there and expect to start dreaming. Ideally, you want to be just on the verge of falling asleep. More relaxed than you probably think is humanly possible.

You could try a trick called Reverse Blinking. You just close your eyes and breath normally, but slowly. On each exhale, you blink your eyes open and closed quickly. You probably won't even have time to focus your eyes on anything. They just flit open and closed like a blink, but in reverse. You can incorporate some sort of counting into this too, to help keep from getting distracted and get in a rhythm. Do this until you get into a trance-like state from the repetition and rhythm.

This should get you really close to sleep, or even drop you right into sleep. Don't get frustrated if you drift off and fall asleep too early. You have to fall asleep to WILD, so it is a step in the right direction.

I will normally alternate this reverse blinking with something more active, such as visualization. The visualization keeps me focused and aware, the reverse blinking helps bring me back to sleep. You need a balance of both to stay right on the razor's edge of sleep.

Sleep breathing is where you imitate your exact breathing rhythm that you have when you are deep in sleep. You get this rhythm by recording yourself sleeping, and then practicing recreating it by the way it sounds. This way your body will have yet another way to be tricked into thinking that you are fully asleep and will start SP sooner when you are trying to induce it.

A recording device lol... like a tape recorder or something.. you can record it with about anything, then practice mimicking it during attempts.

Sorry to break you two up lol, but I felt the wve of sp last night !!! I'm so proud of myself! Unfourtunatly, of the three times I tried, I never went fully in... The first time it was just my legs, then everything under my head, then just my torso, but now that I know what it feels like I know what I have to acheive! Btw, this was all before I went to sleep, I just got in bed, laying on my stomach and thought about fly, ZAM, right through the body, felt nice, hard to keep still. Then nothing. Then I did it two more times on my back! Thank you all!

First of all Congratulations on the SP. Keep something in mind for me though. You will likely never, never, get an LD when going to bed, or laying down for the night.. even though I can easily attain SP most nighits before bed, I can never LD. The reasoning is because of the natural chemistry of the body. Our body is not mean't to go into REM first thing at night, therefore it is very unlikely that you will LD that way. The good news is that now if you combine this with WBTB, then go into SP, from there you can transition into LD. Seriously, you will be wasting your time if you try this at night other than the experience of SP... Lemme know how it all goes for you.. Speaking of progress, I had 2 more LD's this morning using the timer method again.. .you should give this a shot, 7 of my 8 LD's in the past 2 weeks have came from this method... Its very very easy, and there is no induction. It just happens.. Meanwhile, you learn the states of transition using this and I feel that in the future it will make other methods much easier for me... Let me know how it goes for you..

Thanks for the word, the thin is it all happened accedently, I was thinking about doin the WBTB, but I have a brother that sleeps in the same room so couldn't wake my self up in the middle of the night, so I just laid there, and then it happened! I found it is eaiser if you don't think of the body, I didn't even notice a roll over signal... I can't wait to combine it with WBTB!!!!

Of course you can, haha, I was using the mind awake body asleep method, though wasn't trying that hard last night! I was just laying there, completely still, thinking about stuff, not focusing on my body when what felt like tingly goodness over my legs my heart started beating really fast... So I was really relaxed, layed still not focusing on outer body, then ta da!

Well, just sp... Unfourtunaly... That's why I need to combine it with WBTB... Oh well, I'll get there eventually! Also, what do you do with your tongue, do you sort of create a seal and stick it to the top of your mouth, or do you just let it sit their?
