      Question Smells

      Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with incense? I was thinking about it recently and it seems like it might be a help for two reasons, (1) some people may find the smell of incense relaxing and therefore help them relax into their dream and (2) would it be possible for it to be a sort of sign? Say, you smell the incense during your dream and it causes you to realize that you are in fact in a dream.

      I was also thinking that it might be a bad idea as it may be too much of an external stimuli? I really don't know...

      Anyways, if anyone has any knowledge on the topic let me know please!

      When you sleep, your sense of smell is the first to be turned off and the last to wake up. I've heard of having a quiet alarm that says "You're dreaming", but this wouldn't work as you wouldn't even smell it.
      It might help in WILD, but I don't know as I'm not a WILDer.

      I also doubt that it would help you as a dream sign. I can, however, have a placebo effect. I can't say it is impossible to work for that mean, but I believe that its highly improbable, and that there are many other simpler ways to replace it.

      I think it's a great idea. I am going to try it tonight.

      Smell is a sense in dreams that a lot of people don't experience. (I only began experiencing it recently through deliberate effort.)

      Because of this fact, smelling incense in your dream because you are smelling it physically could be a great dream sign.
