      Completely new

      Hey everybody!

Last night i tried to use the "wild" technique to get theese lucid dreams, i was counting and counting to almost 60 and i felt really wierd in the body and then it felt like something "popped" on my hand. My question is how do i know if i can move, or how do i go out of the body of mine when i am lucid dreaming?

also, i felt my breathing going out of control. like i wasnt breathing at all and i had to breathe. Is this normal?

      thanks in advance

going out of your body is an out-of-body-experience. for this, you imagine falling through the bed, and imagination and dreams will make it seem to happen.

you're not supposed to focus on the paralysis, but let it happen.

you'll know when you can't move. duh.
anyway, someone else said that you'll know when it happens. you'll know...

No. I appreciate you provided a reference though.

The breathing is a hallucination. I experience it sometimes for myself. You're actually breathing normally, but you feel like you have to take a freaking breath am I right?

Someone suffering from sleep-apnea will actually stop breathing for as long as 9 seconds and probably wake up with a headache.

Edderf, I am also new. It might be a good idea for you to find someone who is knowledgable on these forums to be like your mentor. You could then pm them with questions everyday!! I love my mentor (Jarrhead).

Forums are also good. They are so large that sometimes it's hard to find a thread to read and respond to. All of us noobies will take the same adventure and learn as much as we can.

Those all sound like normal sensations to experience during a WILD. Your breathing does change as you start to fall asleep. It can be scary when you notice it, especially when you are in that crazy hallucinating state of mind during a WILD.

When you start to notice hallucinations / sensations such as these, it means you are very close to a dream, or already in one. Try to stay calm without falling asleep all the way. You're almost there.

A few ways to get out of your body, or get into a dream:
      1. Imagine rocking back and forth (without actually moving) until you rock right out of your body.
      2. Roll out of your body and off the bed (obviously, without moving).
      3. Imagine a rope or ladder extending up from your body. Imagine what it would feel like to pull yourself up it, climbing out of your body.
      4. Remember a vivid memory. Imagine yourself in this memory, doing something that involves your body. For example, you could imagine yourself running down your street, or walking through your house touching things.

The basic idea behind all of these things, is to get yourself involved in something that takes your mind off your current state. Forget that you are lying in bed, and become physically involved in a new dream scene.
