Question Hey I'm Shuk. I have a question

I sort of just came across this site randomly. Me and my friend where talking about dreams and I got really interested and I wanted to ask a question.

For the longest time I have not dreamed, all I see when I sleep is black. Last night I woke up and I had my 1st dream in the longest time. I was wondering is it normal not to dream? Or at least see nothing, is it just because I don't remember?

I would say you just forget, we have several dreams a night naturally, but most people tend to forget them.

Also, I bet the dream was because you talked with your friend about them, so it was considered somewhat important and not forgotten lol

I was talking to my friend today about dreams witch made me decide to search this place up. So it's normal to never remember dreams? Kind of a waste wouldn't you say.

Yeah, since the popular belief on dreams is "They aren't important" most people just stop caring and start forgetting them.
It is a total waste, especially considering that you can become lucid in them and do... whatever you want to do.

We dream every night believe it or not, you may already know that. Most of the world only knows to lay down, close eyes, and wait for the next day. No one really takes interest in dreams and things they are important at all, most of us who don't know anything about it just wake up, remember a little dream and just go "eh that's cool, what a weird dream!" then forger about it forever. I think dreams are amazing, they can tell us things about ourselves we don't even know. They can give us ideas and inspiration. Talking and reading about dreams definitely will put it in the back of your mind even if you aren't presently thinking about it. It's an interest you have so it's always on your mind. Many people just say "Oh you are weird for liking dreams" or "You are crazy!" I say, they are the crazy ones. They have this gift of their mind showing them the show of their lives but ignore it. All I can say is if you really want to get into it, be determined and have patience. Rome wasn't built in a day. Though for some you can lucid at will, or right after learning. We aren't all the same. Just remember be aware, and you may not even need a technique. Practice being aware when you are awake, practice getting the "feel" of how it feels being awake. Pay close detail to things like senses, how something feels, smells, tastes, really get into it. After all Lucid does mean aware, so if you are lucid during the day you will most likely be during sleep. BAH! Long post sorry. Welcome to DV!
