Hey DV community, I am 100% new to LD and need serious help.

Ok, just the other night I was surfing the internet and came across this website. I now know that becoming lucid in a dream is basically understanding that you are dreaming. I just dont understand how it works becuase when I dream, I cant actually think or understand anything..im just dreaming. I think the WILD technique is best for me, but I just need some SUPER BEGINNER advice to achieving my first LD. I am really excited to start learning how to LD and how to master it but I just DO NOT understand where to start and when to try to get my first LD. Also theres one more thing, like when your LD'ing, can you think like you could when your awake? Im a little confused on how the whole awareness of being in a dream thing works.

      -Thanks!

Lucid dreams come around suddenly when you realize you are dreaming. Something in the dream will not make sense to you, or some other stimulus, and you will realize you are dreaming. From there, you can consciously manipulate your dream and interact with it as you would with the real world. That's when your 'not thinking, just dreaming' ends and your conscious takes over.

You'll understand it when you have your first lucid dream.

And yes, you can think like you normally would in a lucid dream. It's the trademark of a lucidity.

I can't give you advice for WILDing, but if you want to attain lucidity in the middle of dream, you should use a dream journal to help yourself recognize when you're dreaming. When you write down your dreams, you will remember them better and have a better chance at having that moment when you realize you're dreaming.

There are varying levels of awareness, some people call them "semi-lucids" if you can't think like your awake. But I think most lucids, yes you do think like your awake, because you consciousness is awake.

read the tutorials lol. When you sleap normaly your this one part of your brain that controls conciousnes and logic turns off and when your lucid it is on basicly.

Okay well first off the key to having lucid dreams is patience. Second WILDing isn't for beginners unless your experienced in meditation. You have to research reality checks and learn what they are and how you use them. My suggestion would be to go on youtube.com and type in reecejones87 he explains lucid dreaming very well and he helped me alot when i first started out.
