Talking Hey everyone! I'm new here :D

Although i've recentely made a dreamviews account (made one about five minutes ago actually) i'm not exactly thaat new to lucid dreaming. I've been trying for two months now and have had a total of four lucid dreams. I've actually always been able to remember my dreams, ever since a really young age. And I have the wierdest, most abstract dreams ever, and can remember every single detail. Sometime around march this year, I was having these serious issues with my friends when I had this CRAZY-LONG dream. It was well, insane, you could say. And i woke up thinking 'That has to mean something' So I looked up certain stuff on a dream dictionary and soon cracked the dream; it solved all my problems in real life. It was amazing. And on that website on the side I saw a little sidebar option that said 'lucid dreaming' and I though, 'hey, why not check it out.' I had my first lucid dream a month later and it was the most amazing unforgettable experience I have ever had. And I just went on from there I guess.

So yeah, that's my lucid story
      whats yours?

Welcome! I joined about 5 minutes ago as well...

I've been fascinated in dreams and lucid dreaming for quite a few years, and usually remember my dreams well too. Like yours, mine are usually very abstract and random too. My subconscious is a weird, weird place I started a dream journal this past January--and had my first lucid dream the first night I tried! I did a hand check--turned out that I only had three fingers :-O I tried to fly, but woke up. After that, I got busy and wrote in my DJ less and less. However, about a week ago I unintentionally had a random LD that lasted a few seconds, and it got me interested in it again. I found this site, and now I'm determined to become a consistent lucid dreamer.

I know! For some really wierd reason I never do reality checks, i just realise its a dream and the I spin and end up at this new place. Sometime though I realise its a dream like one time I looked in the mirror and had bright red hair (I have brown hair) and I was like 'no way is this real' so i tried to get lucid but for some reason I could feel my body in my bed again and it faded out and I woke up. Really need to work on maintaining those dreams. I haven't been able to recall dreams for about two weeks now and it is really bothering me. Haven't lucid dreamt in weeks (eeks). It's because of the extremely heavy work load I get in school. I end up sleeping at like 2am. (which reminds me of my french essay I need to right, yikes)
I wasn't able to fly until like my third lucid dream and let me tell you it was the most AMAZING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I was about to jump off my 11th floor balcony (there was the sea below me and the night sky was a lovely shade of blue with so many stars) but I got scared so I climbed down to the second floor and tried to fly but i was struggling and I nearly fell into the sea. But I kept trying until I was somehow swimming through air (wierd) but then I worked on it and could glide and stuff. And then I climbed back up and jumped down. It was so fun!
So yess, you should totally try flying!

And to all the others: thanks for being such a welcoming bunch I'm surely gonna love it here you guys all seem awsome

EDIT: ok, I was trying to quote you but I failed. Man, I need to get used to this forum XD
EDIT AGAIN: ok, I just saw the reply with quote. *feels stupid*
EDIT FOR THE THIRD TIME: Oh and Leo, I would definitely be interested..but I've only had four lucid dreams. I'm a beginner when it comes to those (which is why I joined this site!)

Man, your flying experience sounds awesome. I wish I could actually get lucid for long enough to enjoy it, but so far, no luck. I've been having really good dream recall lately though. It's mostly due to the fact that I've taken DVs advice and stayed in bed 5-10 minutes after my alarm goes off--just trying to remember my dreams. One thing that really helps with dream recall--If you remember even the tiniest thing about your dream, dwell on it, try to remember details, and then think about what happened before or after it. It's been making my dream recall count each night go from like 2 to 7. Try it! and yeah, getting more hours of sleep would probably help too

Yeah, I seriously need to do that. Well, on the bright side I actually had a lucid last night. I lost lucidity half way and had probably the worst false awaken
ing ever. I've noticed that most of the dreams I have happen from 11-12pm. I am serious. I wake up, and look at the time, and then I write down keywords of what happened in the dream on my itouch. (in my false awakening I was going to do this but my itouch fell on the floor and broke. I thought it was real and got so scared. THANKFULLY i woke up and it was safe on my bedside table.)
I'm gonna try giving lucid dreaming another go. But it seems like I only have one every one or two weeks. Oh well, we're all still beginners
Thanks for the friend request by the way!

I would literally shit myself if that happened to me, FA or not!

Don't sweat the dry spell. Once things get a little less stressful, you will bounce right back to some awesome dreams.

wow, false awakenings sound strange... never experienced one before.

good news... I actually had a moment of lucidity last night too! Two nights ago, one of my dreams was about a goat. In my dream last night, I saw a goat and I realized I had dreamt about one the night before, causing me to ask myself if I was dreaming. Without even doing any RCs I concluded that I was. I looked around and met some of the dream characters, but my level of lucidity was low, and my body soon woke me up (it was already 10:30 am). nonetheless, I'm glad I gained even a moment of being lucid! Progress

hi sweet sleep, sounds to me you did very well first time round, realizing you only had 3 fingers is realising your there. when i first l.d i had anticipated being able to fly but couldnt. so what worked for me was taking bouncy steps, after each step you bounce a little higher and become more confidant, then bounce little higher again, its enjoyoable, you feel safe, then with each bounce spread your arms. bet you fly from then on. hope that works for you, could you let me know please, thanks leo

Thanks Leo, I'll try that. I actually had a short lucid last night, but I didn't know what to do (seems to be a re-occuring theme in my lucids). I didn't want to wake up, so I rubbed my hands together, but my clarity didn't seem to improve. I tried spinning around, but I don't remember what happened after that, so I'm guessing i morphed into a normal dream again. I think next time I'll try the bouncing-flying thing
