Hello everyone!
I'm glad to have found this forum. I see the ineffable potential within lucid dreaming after having my first one. I had it about a month ago and have not been able to lucid dream since, though. I meditated for about 25 minutes before I went to bed that night. I think that maybe meditating boosted my concentration from made it easier to gain control of the dream.
I remember it quite clearly. I was sitting on my bed in my room talking to my friend Johno as he was sitting in the computer chair. I remember realizing it was a dream and letting him know. Then, I said to him "so this is a dream... So how are you here?" I asked that because I was amazed by how true he was acting to his personality and that my mind was generating it. He then replied intensely while shaking his head "I don't know man, I'm just here."
After that scene, I was then at my friends house walking down the street across town with Johno. He explained that we were going to his neighbor's house to give back a laptop. This was funny to me because I've never been to that particular house before and know nothing about any of my friends borrowing a laptop. As we were walking down the street, I realized even further that it was indeed a dream, so I quickly decided and tried to make everything that I saw become bright. Then, the grass along the street at turn into a bright neon green. This amazed me and marked the end of my lucid dream.
Also, at one point in the dream I remember feeling like I was about to wake up and I could feel the dream slipping away. Then I simply diverted my attention back towards the dream that was taking place in my bedroom. I feel like right then I learned how to sustain the dream, to some degree.
Anyway, I'm excited for the next time.
