      Intro and an easy question.

I could always control my dreams, but I just started trying lucid dreams yesterday, to see if I could realize I was dreaming. I had been doing the hand method a lot yesterday, since the nose thing just wasn't for me. Then in my dream, I did it, I still had all my fingers and what not, but just by my dream self doing an RC, I knew I was dreaming! I got so happy my dream was about to blur out, but I got it back and began running around having a ton of fun. I tried to fly but could only jump super high and in low gravity, which was fun. I also found my dream sign, which I think is my cellphone not working. Anyways my question was, whats a dream guide? Like your dream controller kinda? I know what they are kind've but where did you guys find yours? What did they look like? And do you have any stories about them?

Edit: I'm also super happy and very blessed that I had my first lucid on my first night I tried.

Hello and welcome. A dream guide is a dream character that helps you out. If you have trouble flying for instance, you could ask your dream guide to help you out. They're smarter than normal dream characters; whatever usually actually makes sense. They can have any appearance. It's usually just a person, but I've heard of a dragon too. Anyway that's what I've learned browsing these forums, I've never met mine. Congrats on your first lucid dream.

I see, I hope to meet mine soon. And thank you, it was probably one of the funnest things I've ever got to do.

I label dream guides as any dream character who seems to stand out from the dream and helps me. Sometimes certain characters seem extra aware of my presence, or overly concerned about me. I know other people have more complicated definitions. For myself, it is just a feeling I get from certain people or creatures.

I see, I've met a couple of people that seemed extra aware of me. Also what does adopting mean? Like you help them learn about LDing?
