      Desperation, Please Help!

Okay... Honestly. I've been trying to LD for at least 7 months now. The closest I've gotten was I once realized I was dreaming by thinking something wasn't possible, and then I lost control and felt like I got warped back to reality, waking up in SP, then I moved and became totally awake. Other than that one instance, I haven't gotten close to LD, and recently I've even been forgetting my dreams... Which doesn't usually happen, I have great dream recall and keep a dream journal. I try to do RC's during the day, and every time I go to sleep I attempt SP and use a mantra along the lines of; "I will realize I am dreaming tonight"
But it seems as if NOTHING is working..... I've never gotten close to LD'ing other than that one occasion, but I do have very vivid dreams, so I thought making the step to LD'ing would be easy..... Guess not.
I tend to have at least 2 dreams per night, and usually can remember all of them...
Life has just been getting very stressful and.... well, not the greatest thing, so I'm hoping to master LDing so I can have a place to my own every night, however all these failed attempts are beginning to make me wonder if its even possible....
Please help! What can I do to improve my chances?!?!

I'm fairly recent to the field myself MCAngst, (been practicing for less than a year) but I do have a few pointers that helped me out.

Probably the most likely reason that you have not achieved lucidity yet is because you are too worried about it. I can only garner from your screenname that you are a very anxious person; if I am correct in my assumptions, than your chances of achieving it in this state of mind are quite low. Not to worry: I was the exact same way. Here's what I did.
First, you must realize that your dreams are somewhere far removed from your everyday life. They are someplace that waking reality cannot touch; a sacred realm inside of you where normal rules and conceptions do not apply. As a special place, you must have a special mind-set if you wish to consciously approach them, as one does with lucid dreaming. To this end, you must learn to purge yourself of your emotions before you sleep. They belong to the waking-world, not the one you wish to enter. I suggest meditating. You can find any number of guides for this online, and I'm sure you'll find a way that's right for you. With this practice you will become more aware of your "mind at rest" and, like me, become more likely to realize when you're dreaming.
Another tip is taking vitamins B6 and B12 during the night. Be sure to do it after sleeping for a few hours. This almost always gives me a lucid dream.

The best of luck to you
