      New to LDing.

So, I tried last night to get an LD with the WILD technique. I started getting impatient, which I know is bad, so I gave up. I turned on my side and I started getting the hallucinations, but they're very faint, and white. I felt like my eyes couldn't be closed any longer so they would try to open. I'd 'blink' a bit, with my eyes closed. My bed felt like it was swaying back and forth. That's all I can remember. My dream consisted of a fish that claimed he was Eminem, and living in California. I don't know why I didn't think to myself or say, 'I am dreaming'. I tried to have a WILD today, but my mom rang the door bell so I didn't get to the transition. My left hand started to feel numb when I was relaxing in bed, and I sank into the mattress. My right hand started getting tingly. The eye problem happened again, and I hardly got any hallucinations. When I closed my eyes tighter, they would show up, but faintly. I couldn't keep them tight so I just relaxed them. I would like any information on how to get the hallucinations as colours, and swirls, or whatever they are, instead of just white blurs. I have tried looking up information on how to have a LD, and none of it has worked yet. How long should I wait to have the transition? Thanks.

A few minutes for it, also, there are other techniques and they aren't meant to work in the first try, you should try them for a few weeks before giving up on one, that is, if you are lucky <.<

Anyway, try RCing when you WILD, maybe you are asleep already and don't even know it.

If you haven't read the WILD Tutorial I'd do so, and there's another page about Hypnogogic Hallucinations (H) as well.

Walms gave good advice. The only thing I'd say is that everyone dreams different. Not everyone sees blue butterflies when they see HH or swirls or patches of light. I'm not sure if one can really control what they experience as they head into a dream, though that would be interesting for others to experiment with. I'm no good with WILD, so that one doesn't work for me It seems like you're starting to head towards a dream, so I'd keep working with WILD for a while longer before you try something else. Sometimes methods just need some time so you can get used to them.

If there's any other way we can help, let us know Sweet lucid dreams!

I've read just about every tutorial. And last night I had my first lucid dream. ^_^ Was short, yes, but that's because I got excited, which I know I'm not really supposed to do. But I think I'm making good progress since I learned about Lucid Dreaming around 5 days ago.

That's awesome! It took me about two weeks before I had my first LD If you keep it up, you'll be having plenty more LDs in no time!

One thing I'd suggest is decide what you'd like to do in an LD before you go to bed. It's fun to just experience lucidity, but if there's something you really want to try, plan out what you want to accomplish, and remind yourself before going to sleep. It'll help prevent moments where you just stand there wondering what you're going to do.

      Keep it up!

Thanks. I'll try the "planning out what I'd like to do" tonight.

Well, I woke up, and I was in my bed. So I guess it was one of those false awakenings? I sat up and saw a piece of paper glowing in the dark. It said, "Save the original Pokemon" or something like that, it was a bit blurry. I was like, woah, when did this get here? I did two reality checks. I counted 4 and a half fingers on my left hand, and then I checked my alarm clock, which was shut off. I remember electronics didn't work in dreams so I knew I was dreaming. My bed is a single bed, and I have a giant teddy bear in it. In the dream, the bear almost made me fall off the bed, so I took it, threw it to the foot of the bed, and said, "Bed, grow bigger! Like... a lot bigger!" and it grew into a king sized bed. I then woke up. ): I've always wanted a bigger bed... soo... it was exciting.
